On a beautiful spring weekend (June, 1-4, 2017) a group of Red Knights from Region 1 and beyond gathered in Rutland, Vermont for the 3rd Annual Yankee Rally which was hosted by the Vermont State Association. As you can imagine, the shenanigans and fun that ensued cannot be adequately put into words!

There were 354 Red Knights in attendance which made this the largest Yankee Rally to date! They hailed came from near and far:

FL (2 members) ONT (2 Members)
MD (3 members) MAL (6members)
ME (10 members) NH (10 members)
PA (10 members) CT (22 members)
MA (44 members) VT (63 members)
NJ (63 members) NY (114 members)

On Friday, Mike Chamberlain (President, VTII) lead a group ride to Barre, VT. Riders visited the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry and enjoyed lunch at Wilkins Harley Davidson. Many reported that it was a great ride although rain attempted to dampen the fun.

Saturday brought biker games as well as many small self-guided group rides including to the beautiful Quechee Gorge. Evening brought a delicious BBQ dinner and a talk given by 2017 NACAR Hall of Fame Nominee Ken Squire who spent many years as an announcer for NASCAR. The final highlight of the evening, that some may have missed, were the karaoke performances of Amanda “Smooches” Roun and Bob Binnall just to name a couple of performers. Also of note, the 2018 Yankee Rally takes place in Clifton Park, NY and will be hosted by NY 29 &12. The Yankee Rally will return to “Where It All Began” in 2019 as MA15 hosts the 5th Yankee Rally in Boylston, MA

As always, Sunday morning was full of sad goodbyes as people departed for home, Americade, or other destinations unknown. Solace was found as many began to look forward to August when once again Red Knights will gather in mass for our International Convention in Syracuse, NY. See You There!!!!
