Where Does the Plow Attach by George Colby 3/14/13

Ohio 1 Annual Meeting 1/9/14

I don’t know why it took me so long to remember but I am inclosing a photo taken in April of  2011.

It is not too much unlike the photo on the web site. I am on the left (Red bike) and my riding partner on our (“around the USA”) trip Al is with his black bike. Both are 1800 Gold Wings. The plow truck driver that came along to save us is Ken and he is a biker.

Al and I had just left Silverton Colorado in front of a blizzard. Get out and over the Rockies or be stuck in a motel for who knows how long. This is the top of the pass and the road turned to solid ice and snow.

The temp was 26 and falling. We couldn’t go any further as the road going down was impassable by motorcycles.

While we were trying to figure out what to do, Ken came along. We chatted for a bit and then he plowed and sanded us off the mountain. Once we had dropped 1000 feet the roads were just wet.

The photo was taken at about 8,000 feet.

I was scared to death.

Al and I call Ken our “Angel”….
