Who may use the Red Knights® names and Logo

 

There is a difference between the RK Logo and the RK International Seal. 

Read the difference at the lower half of this page.

 

Membership in the Red Knights International Motorcycle Club Inc. ® (hereafter, known as the Red Knights®) gives a member permission to wear the club patches and identify them self as a Red Knight® only.

The use of the images and names of the Red Knights® on office materials, web pages, clothing and all other items that an organizational entity, vendor or individual member may produce, is not automatically granted with membership.  

The names and images of the Red Knights® are registered with the US and Canada and European Union patent office¹ and the Red Knights® reserves the use of those names and images to entities and members who have filed the proper application for use and have been granted permission of use.  Such licenses are on file with the International Secretary of the Red Knights®.

If a Chapter, other organizational entity, vendor or a single member wishes to use the images and names of the Red Knights®, that Chapter, entity, vendor or individual must obtain permission from the Red Knights® by using the Trademark License Application as described on the Chapter Merchandise page of the Red Knights® web page.

The State or Province Representatives in your regions can apply for a TMLA for the use of RKIFMC name/logo on State Representative web site, including social medias, business cards, letterheads, checks, address labels, newsletters, and flyers (to promote the chapters in his/her state only) to conduct the business of the representative. The three-piece patch kit for the back of the member’s vest shall be purchased from the International Quartermaster only. No local shop is approved to make the patch kit.

Chapters, other organizational entities and individuals, who use web pages, of which they have complete creative control, may apply for the Business Trademark License.

Attention  All chapters that have an approved TMLA for chapter busines:

The TMLA now includes a social media web site as long as it is under the control of the chapter’s Executive Board and not the control of the members.  (updated 08/10/2011)

Individual members may not use the Red Knights® names or logos in the name of their “personal based” page, the URL of the “personal based” page, the banner or background of their “personal based” page such as MySpace or Face Book. 

Example:

“Anystate Red Knight 1 http://www.myspace.com/anystateredknight1” is not acceptable while

“John Smith Anystate 1 http://www.myspace.com/29403331” would be acceptable.

Individual members may identify themselves as a Red Knight® in their personal description.  Individual members may use the Red Knights® name in any discussions and may show Red Knight® images in pictures.

If an Association or Chapter has an approved TMLA , the Association or Chapter may have a social media web site as long as it is under the control of the Chapter’s or Association’s Executive Board and not the control of the members.

If it is determined by, the International Board or an appointee of the International Board, that a violation of the use of said Red Knights® names and images has been committed, legal action will be commenced.  

The Red Knights® is a family oriented club and any material that is found to be offensive, even if it was granted a Business Trademark License, will not be tolerated or accepted.  If any such material is found and that entity has already been granted a Business Trademark License, the Business Trademark License for such
offensive material will be revoked.

There is a difference between the RKMC Logo and the RKMC International Seal.

Chapters, with the Chapter Business Trademark License, may use the RKMC logo.  No one other than the International Board may use the International Seal.

The only time you will see and International Seal is on a document that is produced by the International Board or an International Board Member.
