Happily married to my beautiful wife Jan for 22 years.

 

First joined the Red Knights Chapter NZ 2 which is based in Auckland the North Island. At the time there were only two Chapters in New Zealand, both on the North Island.  Charter member of NZ 6 formed in December 2013, the first Chapter in the South Island. I have been President ever since.  We grew to 35 members throughout the South Island and I encouraged and assisted members to set up their own Chapters, as a result, we gained two more Chapters in the South Island and increased the number of Red Knights.  Chapter 6 held the First Gathering in the South Island with all funds raised going to the host- Takaka Fire Brigade for Rescue equipment.  The Brotherhood of all the Chapters in NZ is very strong and the attendance at our yearly Gatherings is a testament to the unity of the Red Knights in New Zealand.

 

My aim is to encourage and assist Chapters to grow the membership and comradeship of the Red Knights in Region 8

 

I joined the Fire Service while still at school when I was 15 and served for over 30 years in the following Volunteer Fire Brigades. Napier, Bay View, and Stoke, also served 5 years as paid   Airport Rescue Fire Fighter in Nelson

I have held the positions of Firefighter, Station Officer, and Deputy Chief Officer during my time in the fire Service retiring in 2006. Life member of the Stoke Volunteer Fire Brigade.
