Ken May
My name is Ken “Moonshine” May, member of Red Knights NJ 19, NJ 31, NY 50, AL 4, Wales 1, and now Region 1 Director.
I live in the same town I grew up in, Hazlet, New Jersey. I started my volunteer career in 1985, with the Hazlet First Aid & Rescue Squad, where I served as Department Secretary, Trustee, 2nd & 1st Lieutenant. After about 12 years I decided to volunteer more, so in 1997, I joined the North Centerville Volunteer Fire Company. In my 25 years there I served as Department Secretary, By-Laws Committee, Executive Board, and Liaison to the Monmouth County Fireman’s Association.
I joined the Red Knights in 2005 and since, held the positions of Chapter President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. In 2018, I was appointed to serve as Red Knights New Jersey State Association Secretary. In 2020, I ran for the position of State Association President and faithfully served the position for 3 years.
I am retired from a wonderful job I held for over 39 years, working in the Financial Industry, holding positions as Global Security Assistant, Investigation Administrator, and finally Life Safety Coordinator.
I am happily married to my wife Laura for 40 years. We have two children Paul and Patti, a daughter-in-law Ashley, and a beautiful grandson Jake. Yes, they are all Red Knights.
