Funeral Information: John "Bill" William Morrell SEPTEMBER 8, 1955 – FEBRUARY 6, 2022 Obituary of {subject.fullNameWithPrefixAndSuffix} IN THE CARE OF Jayne’s Funeral Home MORRELL, John “Bill” William, it is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Bill Morrell who died peacefully at home on February 6, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Jack and Dorothy (Melanson) Morrell. Bill worked for Hud Bay in Flin Flon, Manitoba for 40 years. He was very structured and always had a plan, whether it was work, travel or building some thing. He loved biking, a true motorcycle enthusiast and always felt free when he was on his bike. Bill enjoyed volunteering where he was needed and fundraising for charity. Bill was a member of the Red Knights Bike Club in Digby, the ATV Club, the Curling Club, the Rotary Club and he also volunteered for Wharf Rat Rally and Lobster Bash. He had many hobbies, he loved to camp, ride his motorcycle and spend time with his grandkids. He also love to curl and teach curling to his grandsons and nephew. He loved his family, they were extremely important to him. Bill is survived by his daughter, Julie-Ann Morrell; son, Victor Morrell; grandkids, Brandon, Jarret, Hannah, Ethan, William, Carrington, Laney; great grandson, Noah and baby Morrell due April 1st 2022; brothers, David (Denise) Melanson, Ontario, Steve (Brenda) Morrell, Digby, Mike (Sharon) Morrell, Manitoba, Leroy (Christa) Morrell, Digby, Scott (Shawna) Morrell, Manitoba; sisters, Shirley (Wayne) Milbury, Digby, Wanda (Calvin) VanTassel, Digby, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his grandparents and grandson, Mathew Morrell. A huge thank you for the special friends that took the time to spend time with him and love him as much as we did. The family wants to thank all the medical staff in Yarmouth and VON for their support and caring. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA or The Salvation Army. Visitation for Bill will be held at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 11-1pm. Following public health regulations, proof of full vaccination and photo ID or letter of exception will be required to attend, mask and social distancing also apply.
