Hello to all,
It is a privilege and my humble honor to serve you as your chaplain. I started this journey as a Vol. Firefighter/EMT with my company Mechanicsville Vol. Fire Dept. (MVFD) To be honest with you I was and still am their fire prevention officer. I was called to ministry on a 2 am call. Sometime I’ll tell you more about that call.
I am an assistant fire chaplain with the Southern Maryland Vol. Firemen’s Association. Which I have been serving for the past 8 years. I also spent a year as a Maryland State trooper Chaplain. For the past two years and currently I am serving as a Hospice Chaplain.
I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Divinity (Chaplaincy) from Liberty University and a second Master’s Degree of Divinity (Pastoral Counseling), I also have Fire Chaplain I from the Association of Fire Chaplains. Four unites of Clinical Practical Education toward being a Board-Certified Chaplain
Probably just like any other of our members how did I get here? Just like you I was asked! My husband of 44 years and counting (Oct 13, 2024 will be our 45th) joined Maryland Chapter 4, he rides and is also a Vol. Firefighter, Assistant Fire Prevention Officer for (MVFD). A few months later he comes home and asks if I want to be the Chaplain of the Chapter. Of course, I said yes! (I drive a” vette” and bring up the rear). Currently I serve as the Chaplain and Secretary.
I have mentioned my husband, we have two adult children, Jonathan Jr. (rides with Strength and Honor) and wife Teri and our daughter Theresa and husband, Chris. Between the two couples they have blessed us with 10 grandchildren.
I look forward to being of service to you all.
Chaplain Terri
